We have never run a data broker
That sentence should be unremarkable. It is not, and the reason is worth knowing before you hand your personal information to anyone in this industry.
Why this page exists
In 2024, security journalist Brian Krebs reported that the founder of OneRep — at the time one of the most widely used data-removal services, and the engine behind Mozilla’s own privacy product — had personally launched dozens of people-search sites since 2010. One of them, Nuwber, was still operating, and OneRep counted it among the sites it scrubbed for paying customers.
The company presented itself as Virginia-based while operating out of Belarus. Mozilla terminated the partnership.
We are not telling you this to score a point against a competitor. We are telling you because it is the clearest possible illustration of a structural problem: a business that profits from the problem and the solution simultaneously has no reason to solve anything. And there is no licensing regime, no registration requirement and no disclosure obligation in this industry that would have revealed it. A journalist had to go and find out.
So the only thing available to you as a customer is a company willing to state its position plainly, in public, where it can be held to it. Here is ours.

Six things, stated plainly so you can hold us to them

We have never owned, operated or invested in a data broker
Not a people-search site, not a background-screening company, not a marketing-data compiler, not a mugshot site. No founder, officer or investor holds a stake in any company that sells personal information.

We will never acquire one
Including through an acquisition of us. If this company is ever sold, this commitment is a condition of sale or the commitment is void and we will say so on this page in plain language rather than quietly updating the terms.

We do not sell, share or monetise your data
Not in aggregate, not anonymised, not as 'insights', not to train a model. The only thing we do with your information is use it to get it taken down. Our revenue is subscriptions. That is the whole business model and there is no second one.

We do not take referral fees from brokers
Some reputation-management firms have financial relationships with the sites they charge you to remove you from. We have no commercial relationship of any kind with any data broker.

We are US-based and we say where
Company registration, operating jurisdiction and the location of our staff are disclosed below. This matters because a previous market leader presented as US-based while operating from elsewhere.

We publish our removal rate whether it flatters us or not
Monthly, with the methodology, including reappearances counted against us and the brokers who refuse included in the denominator.

If we ever break one of these
Write to us. If we have done something inconsistent with this page, we will either correct the behaviour or correct the page, and say which — dated, here, not in a quiet terms-of-service revision.
If you think we have broken a commitment and we disagree, say so publicly. This is a trust business. An unanswerable accusation should cost us customers, and it should.
Every data broker we file against is listed publicly on this site, with their own state disclosures and free instructions for removing yourself without us. All 630 of them. If we had a relationship with any of them, that page would be the first place it would show.
