Deindexing
Removing a page from a search engine's index without removing the page itself.
In more detail
The page remains live at its URL; it simply stops appearing in search results. Search engines do this on request in limited circumstances, and site owners can do it themselves with a directive.
Why it matters to you
For practical purposes deindexing often achieves what removal was meant to achieve, because almost nobody finds a page except through search.
